Well, it’s been a bit of a slog, but yesterday’s final made it all worthwhile.
We were facing a Washingborough ‘A’ team who were, on paper, a side capable of overcoming the 27 shot handicap that we held over them.
After playing only 14 of the 18 end schedule, our opponents decided to cede a match that they could no longer win. At that point we were in the lead by 52 shots to 32 and did not need the handicap.
It was a great result and congratulations are due to the whole team – and when I say team I included the squad members who were not playing in the final but had made a fantastic contribution in the earlier rounds and the quarter and semi finals.
My thanks to everyone.
